Region

U.S. South

In the U.S. South, Rayonier grows loblolly, slash and longleaf pine forests used primarily for pulpwood and sawtimber. Rayonier's timberlands are concentrated in strong markets that are proximal to key mills and ports. Approximately two thirds of our Southern timberlands are located in the region’s top three timber markets. Lumber production and capacity is expected to grow significantly over the next few years in the U.S. South. There is also rising demand for exports to China and India from this region.

New Zealand

In New Zealand, we manage radiata pine and Douglas-fir forests in some of the most productive tree growing climates in the world. We enjoy superior softwood plantation productivity through strong biological growth. Our forests are located in an area with an ideal supply and demand tension in domestic and export markets. Close proximity to ports, infrastructure and transportation hubs positions our portfolio well for export sales to Asian countries, including China, South Korea, India and Japan.
